Biomethane Gas to Grid in the UK
The biogas power plant located in Leeds, England, is a 2016 project, has an installed capacity of 360 kW and uses different silages (rye and sugar beet) and poultry litter as input. The peculiarity of the plant however is the additional upgrading unit for the transformation of biogas. This system enables the plant to produce and inject into the grid biomethane in addition to electricity. The upgrading unit is fully powered by the heat produced by the plant and does therefore not consume any additional energy. The plant will be producing around 5.200.000 Sm3 of biogas a year and represents an important, international project for the company.
